Conclusion on allegations
KEDINGTON PARISH COUNCIL
PRESS RELEASE
For the past 21 months, six Kedington Parish Councillors have been under the shadow of serious allegations of breaching the Code of Conduct. The allegations of man-handling, bullying, abusive behaviour and collusion were brought to the Standards Committee, Assessment Sub-Committee of St Edmundsbury Borough Council by ex Kedington Parish Councillor, Gloria Double.
After a thorough investigation by St Edmundsbury’s Investigating Officer, all Councillors were found not to have breached the Code of Conduct for the above allegations. However, one of the six Councillors was found in (breach, for) a minor breach of the Code and another Councillor was found guilty of a minor breach (of the Code) on a technicality.
Neither breach was serious enough to warrant any disciplinary action against the two councillors. All members of the Parish Council have expressed their support for the two councillors and are pleased that no action is to be taken against them.
A spokesperson said Kedington Parish Council is now looking forward to continuing to serve the interests of the Parish to the best of their ability without the worry and distractions of these allegations hanging over them.

Community Oil Buying Scheme

Suffolk ACRE, a charity working to enable rural communities to be more socially, economically and environmentally sustainable, is running a new community based countywide oil buying syndicate.
Save money on the cost of your heating oil. Using joint buying power, through a local co-ordinator, oil can be ordered in bulk by Suffolk Acres oil buyer. By delivering to the area at the same time, the oil company has less cost which produces savings for the customer and also reduces local traffic so is better for the environment.
